Stay connected outside TETRA coverage
Employees may move outside the range of the TETRA network, for example, inside buildings or when working in areas with limited coverage.
With DIMETRA Connect, the MXP660 can automatically switch to an available LTE or Wi-Fi network and maintain the connection to the TETRA system. The user can continue using familiar features and workflows without having to manually switch networks. When a stable TETRA connection is available again, the radio automatically switches back.
The feature requires a solution with DIMETRA Connect and access to a suitable broadband network. The MXP660 also offers Class 3 transmit power of 2.8 W, which can contribute to better range in areas with weak TETRA coverage. With the DMO repeater function, the radio can also relay communications between TETRA radios that would otherwise be out of each other's direct range.
Clear speech in noisy environments
Sirens, machinery, wind and crowds can make it difficult to hear an important message.
The MXP660 features a 2 W loudspeaker and AI-trained noise suppression that reduces background noise and enhances the user's voice. The technology also helps suppress acoustic feedback when multiple radios are used in close proximity to one another.
The noise cancellation can be adjusted to either reduce as much background noise as possible or allow some ambient sound to be audible when it is relevant to the user.
