They can also extend the range of handheld radios and create connectivity between different communication technologies.

More than a radio in the vehicle

The Motorola Solutions MXM600 is a TETRA vehicle radio designed for demanding tasks. AI-trained noise reduction suppresses sirens and pump noise, among other things, so that the voice stands out more clearly.

The radio can also function as a gateway between handheld radios and the TETRA network. If a team enters a building with poor network coverage, the MXM600 in the vehicle outside can relay the connection, as long as the handheld radios can reach it. The repeater function can also extend the range for direct communication between radios.

With DIMETRA Connect, the MXM600 can use a configured Wi-Fi connection, for example from the vehicle's LTE router, when TETRA coverage is unavailable. It automatically switches back when a stable TETRA connection becomes available. Programming via Wi-Fi also makes it easier to update the radio fleet without connecting each radio by cable.
